Alfred Pommer
Photographs from Exploring the Original West Village
February 4 – March 16, 2012
Alfred Pommer, a self-employed New York City licensed tour guide, has been giving private and public guided walking tours of New York’s neighborhoods for over 20 years. Pommer and Eleanor Winters co-authored Exploring the Original West Village, recently released by History Press. Pommer’s knowledge about the detailed history of New York buildings and neighborhoods is unsurpassed. For this exhibit his photography is concentrated on historically significant buildings and parks in New York’s West Village. Each photo is accompanied by a page of framed text that tells about the history of the building or area.
